Kirstie Alley Blames Las Vegas Shooting On Psychiatric Drugs

Actress Kirstie Alley recently stirred controversy on her Twitter page after tweeting out on October 2 that a common denominator in shooters is psychiatric drug use in the United States.

After she sent her tweet out, hundreds of comments poured in, ranging from those who agreed with her stance and others who called her insensitive for sharing such a controversial opinion only several days after the attack took place. Others insulted her belief in Scientology.

Among those to argue with her was Derek Shore, news reporter for WPLG Local 10. He told Alley to “sit down” before stating how many victims lost their lives. She responded to Shore, standing by her opinion, and wrote, “Yes I did say it. It happens to be a common denominator in that didn’t exist before the 80’s.. not my opinion. Statistic based”.

On October 2, American talk show and radio host, Andy Cohen tweeted out, “Why not ban machine guns?” The tweet received over 20,000 likes, thousands of retweets, and to date, just over 2,000 replies. Shore responded to Cohen’s tweet asking if he saw what Alley tweeted, to which she responded, “Oh lord now you tattling on me? Jeez..Why not donate blood instead?”
