CBS Executive Fired For Making Unsympathetic Vegas Massacre Post

A CBS legal executive was let go from the company after posting what many are calling insensitive and ignorant statements regarding the recent tragic shooting events in Las Vegas. Hayley Geftman-Gold posted about the topic of violence on her Facebook account in the comment section, but it was her remarks about Las Vegas that caught people by surprise.

Hayley Geftman-Gold stated, “I’m actually not even sympathetic bc country music fans are republican gun-toters.” This comment had people feeling hurt, and has triggered some angry response on her social media accounts. Geftman-Gold is reported to have even been harassed now by online users.

In the aftermath of the horrific mass shooting committed by Stephen Paddock this week in Las Vegas that left 58 people dead and more than 500 people injured, a lot of people are left scratching their heads as to why this was allowed to happen. In Geftman-Gold’s case, her comments and the reaction they garnered lead her to the notify the police, where she had to report on people harassing her and even issuing threats.

As a result of Geftman-Gold’s comments, CBS recently issued this statement: “This individual, who was with us for approximately one year, violated the standards of our company and is no longer an employee of CBS. Her views as expressed on social media are deeply unacceptable to all of us at CBS. Our hearts go out to the victims in Las Vegas and their families.”
