With everything that’s going on in this world right now, we want to believe that there is still good in the world. From time to time there are people whose small acts of kindness go a really long way.
One man, Richard Newberry, did something that shows that there are good people out there. A mechanic who now has his own shop, Richard has come a long way. When he was younger he was homeless and was even in prison.
Though he’s not proud of his past, he’s pretty proud how far he’s come. According to local news, while at work, Newberry notices a woman who always walks by his shop every day. She always looks tired but one day Newberry noticed she was crying.
Newberry decided to ask the lady if she was okay. The woman, Ernestina Nune, started to explain to him.
WTSP reports, Nune worked as a cleaning lady and because she didn’t own a car, she had to walk to work every day. Her trip took her past Newberry’s garage.
But this woman’s story has a tragic past. Her son, who served in the military, started suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder.
Nune thought that her son would get better, but he couldn’t get back to work for many years and ended up taking his life a year ago.
